Two types of checks

Checking a website for compliance with the Web Guidelines can partly take place automatically and partly manually. It is possible to have the manual part carried out by an inspection body related to the Quality mark drempelvrij.nl Foundation. In that case, you may also be awarded the Quality Mark drempelvrij.nl.

Automatic check

The Web Guidelines Quickscan enables you to automatically test your website for compliance with a subset of 47 Web Guidelines. These guidelines are primarily indicative of building quality. The other guidelines can only be checked by an additional manual inspection.

Manual inspection

The manual inspection of the other guidelines takes place on the basis of the Normative Document (page in Dutch, downloadable documents in English). This document describes for all the Web Guidelines as well as for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (incorporated in the Web Guidelines) how they can be checked.

You may carry out the manual inspection yourself, or outsource it to an inspection body. These inspection bodies have been accredited to carry out official inspections for the Quality mark drempelvrij.nl Foundation. More about the organisations involved.

The Quality Mark drempelvrij.nl

You can only be awarded the three-star Quality Mark drempelvrij.nl, if an official inspection body ascertains that your website complies with the Web Guidelines.
